STAGES OF TREATMENT

Orthodontic treatment can be divided into stages:
 

1. Orthodontic consultation. First visit in the office, during which the patient talks about his needs and expectations. The doctor conducts a general medical interview and examination. Assessments are facial features, teeth, bite and temporo-mandibular joints. With the consent of the patient, additional diagnostic examinations are performed - x-ray pictures (panoramic X-ray, cephalometric X-ray , CBCT in the case of indications), photographs of the teeth and face, impressions of the teeth arches for the diagnostic models. The collected documentation is then thoroughly analyzed by an orthodontist who plans orthodontic treatment on its basis.
2. Discussing an individual treatment plan is another visit to the office. This is the time intended to discuss the diagnosis and treatment strategies. The doctor chooses the right appliances and discusses the method of treatment.
3. Bonding the appliance. Depending on the type of device planned, the schedule of visits related to the appliance installation is planned individually.
4. Control visits during the course of treatment. During the orthodontic treatment constant supervision of the orthodontist is necessary. The doctor directs the treatment so that it proceeds in the right direction. Regular check-ups, which in the case of fixed braces are held every month, are the key to achieve therapeutic success.
5. Removing the appliance. The favourite visit of the patients. The orthodontist doctor removes the device and cleanses the teeth. He also gives back retentive devices which maintain the achieved results of treatment.
6. Retention check visits. Proper use of retentive devices gives certainty of stable treatment results. Control visits take place less frequently, at 1,3,6 or 12 months, respectively, since disassembly of the appliance.
